Hello all,

I can’t believe this semester is almost over! We have had some jovial events to wrap up the year which were a much needed study break from the library.

Monday, December 6, we joined UPB in our annual Gingerbread House event. We had bright pink and green icing this year and lots of fun candy. The students did a great job decorating, come check out their creativity on display in the OR!

We had a couple of special meals being served in the OR this week. The Jewish Student Association of Loyola had a Hanukkuh spread on The Vegetarian Station Tuesday night. The menu included items such as latkes and cheese blints with blueberry sauce. Also, a traditional Christmas lunch was served on Wednesday which continues to put everyone in the holiday spirit!

Coming up this Sunday, December 12, Mission and Ministry, Rez-Life and Dining Services have our Mass and Pancakes event to kick off finals week. It begins at 9p.m. in the St. Charles Room. There will be Mass, free food, an ugly sweater contest, free t-shirts, an IPAD giveaway and free postcards for friends, family, and troops stationed overseas. Come join us!

Good luck on finals and have a blessed holiday break!

The Pumpkin Carving Contest was a huge success yesterday! There were tons of very artistic entries including a pumpkin that resembled a fully dressed cheeseburger. The winner should be announced tommorrow during lunch.

The Market has been having some awesome promotions lately. For all those SmartWater lovers who need a little extra kick we have Vitamin Water paired with a Special K Protein Bar for only $2.99. We will be running these limited time offers for about a two week span so get to The Market while supplies last!

Also, as we all know Loyola Week is coming up! This is a great time to show your school spirit. The week always ends with the Battle of Freret rivalry basketball game with Tulane. Come support your team Sunday, November 7 at 5pm in the St. Charles Room for the Pep Rally and on to the Fogelman Arena at 7pm for the big game!

The Yogurt Machine is finally working in the OR so come get some soft serve!

Students,

Oktoberfest is finally among us! Chef Beckmann has made the long trek to Loyola and is preparing to make an unforgettable German cuisine. Many do not realize that quite a few of the recipes they eat today had their start in Germany! That’s right, many of your American favorites were actually German Food. So come get your pork schnitzels and sauerkraut and let’s chow down. The Orleans Room is where it will take place. This Wednesday, October 5 from 11:30a-2:30p is when we expect you there. It will be a dining experience you won’t forget.
