About Dr. Cissy Petty

Cissy works in the Danna Student Center, where she oversees the Office of Student Affairs. Alongside an outstanding Student Affairs staff, Cissy provides leadership for the development of programs and services that enhance both the curricular and co-curricular student experience. The Office of Student Affairs includes the areas of Residence Life, Dining Services, Co-Curricular Programming, including Leadership Training and Orientation, Judicial, Bookstore, Career Services, Health Services, Counseling, Athletics and Wellness.

Before coming to Loyola, Cissy was the Vice President for Co-curricular Education and Dean of Students at St. Lawrence University.  Cissy’s Ph.D is in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in Student Development from the Florida State University.

About dp’s dailies

Dr. Petty, otherwise known as DP, has been sending out “the dailies” since 1998. The dailies are an informal communication tool as an outreach to students Monday-Friday. Each day Cissy selects a quote, poem, prayer or something that someone has sent her to share with others.  While students can opt to cancel their subscription, many find it is a quick way to communicate with the Vice President for Student Affairs. Dr. Petty answers all e-mails within a very short time span…sometimes within a minute and never longer than eight hours!
