The New Orleans Workers’ Center for Racial Justice’s legal department seeks Spanish speaking volunteers to assist in trial preparation.

The New Orleans Workers’ Center for Racial Justice (NOWCRJ) defends the bedrock constitutional, civil, and labor rights of immigrant workers and their families on the Gulf Coast.  The Center represents workers in federal court, administrative hearings, and in government investigations.

The Workers’ Center seeks Spanish speaking volunteers to interpret for Spanish speaking workers to help prepare them for an administrative law trial and possibly conduct research related to the trial; having a legal background is not required. This is a great opportunity to support workers as they defend their labor rights.

Speaking Spanish fluently is required. Our strong preference is for people who can commit to volunteering for approximately 15 hours a week for about 3 weeks, beginning Jan.13 until approximately February 6th. The project will take place at the Workers’ Center Legal Offices in New Orleans.

The Workers’ Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and we would be happy to assist with pro bono / community service hours.
