National Association of Counsel for Children (NACC) Attorney Positions Open
The Staff Attorney is a full-time member of our team who works to ensure legal professionals have the resources they need to provide excellent representation of children, parents, and agencies. This includes collecting and generating resource materials, supporting NACC’s training programs, and helping to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the child welfare legal community. The Staff Attorney reports to the Training Director. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with three+ years of experience moving out of an early career practice position into a national nonprofit organization.
The Policy Counsel will be a new, full-time member of our team who will help coordinate, launch, and staff an ambitious national campaign to guarantee youth the right to counsel in child welfare cases. The strategic objective of the campaign is to establish and expand the right to counsel by changing state law, court rules, or other policies over the next three years and beyond. The Policy Counsel will conduct research, assess state readiness for reform, coordinate communications, and provide intensive technical assistance to state advocates. This position is supported by three-years of funding with the possibility of continued support. The Policy Counsel reports to the Legal Director and works closely with the Executive Director. This is a mid-level staff attorney position for a candidate with policy advocacy experience.
Applications for both positions will be accepted on a rolling basis until the positions are filled.
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by October 26, 2020.
NACC seeks to start both positions by December of 2020.
