“PK saan” that’s how my 4th floor North Biever Hall buddy Lee Slan (English major freshman) would greet me whenever I saw him. The greeting with a secret handshake, which you would not regularly see in Asia, is what made me settle into this culture so easily without breaking a sweat coming all the way from South Korea. After meeting a bunch of diverse people, I felt very at home. All of the people here were so helpful. From Keith Gramling (the director of admissions) to even the library (being able to sleep on the new couches was awesome!). Everyone wanted to help whether it was providing a ride to the Social Security Office, securing me with a part-time job or getting me through the visa process, etc.
This is my new family and a new home (literally!). Disregard the studies and all the stress that come in between the semester, without the community of brilliant people here at Loyola, this university wouldn’t be worth studying at all!
And trust me, it’s worth it!
