For almost 15 years it seemed as though there was a constant countdown to summer. Whether it was hitting the beach with my family or friends, or spending days at the pool I always had a good idea of how I would be spending the time in between school years.

Once I started to attend Loyola, I found that I spent my summers longing to be back at school with my friends and internships I looked forward to so much. This past year, my approach to summer was unlike any one before it. There was a giant looming question mark over my head. I was filled with a mixture of anxiety and excitement as May 2009 approached.

During my time at Loyola I studied everything from Managerial Accounting to Music Marketing and found myself producing high school football games as well as being a part of the production at the Louisiana Superdome. I knew that once I crossed the stage and received my diploma that I would have many decisions upon my horizon about my future.

I moved back to my hometown of Maryland, or headquarters, as I like to think of it, to map out my plan. After weighing my options and thinking about where I wanted to be, I decided it was time to move back to New Orleans. I know what you’re thinking, already? I was only home for about 5 weeks before I was ready to come back, but this time with a different purpose. I was going to take on a position in our Office of Admissions where I spent time as an intern during my student years.

Loyola never had to grow on me as a student; I cherished it from the start. I did however; grow a great deal as a person while I was a part of the university. This opportunity was too good to pass up to return to my alma mater and further their recruitment success. I know Loyola will help me grow if I enroll as a student in their Master’s of Business Administration program, or recruiting in my territory, but most importantly, at the end of the day I will have grown as an individual.
