Every Saturday and Monday in the City Center of Nijmegen, there is an open market that starts at the Grote Market and goes along the street, Burchtstraat. I have been making a point to go there every week, not only to explore the city, but to buy groceries at a hugely discounted price.

The market has officially made my list of favorite things about Nijmegen. It’s such a unique way to buy groceries and it gives me an excuse to wander into town. The fruit stands at the market also sell the most delicious mandarines I have ever had… and at 30 mandarines for 3.50, they can count on me coming back every week.
