Hello there, old friends!
Hopefully your summers have been as fun as mine has been so far. After spending the first half of my summer as a Loyola new student orientation Krewe Leader, I’m now preparing for my next adventure! In a few days, I’ll be leaving hopping on a plane headed for Brussels, Belgium. For the next month I’ll be studying alongside Loyola students in the classrooms of Loyola professors in the university town of Leuven, Belgium (about half an hour from Brussels). Through the program, myself and my classmates will be studying European history, religion, and culture. We will be living and learning in a residence owned by Loyola University Maryland in Leuven (got to love those Jesuit connections!).
As excited as I am for Belgium itself, I’m just as excited for all of the trips outside the country we are going to take. Our professors will be taking all the students in the program to destinations such as Amsterdam, Netherlands, Cologne, Germany, and so on. Aside from that, myself and a few of my friends who are also a part of the program will be heading to both Paris and London on two of the weekends. It’s hard to believe we are getting class credit for all the amazing experiences we’re about to have!
Needless to say, I am beyond excited to embark on this journey toEurope! I couldn’t be more thankful to have been given this opportunity from my professors and my university, and I have no doubt it will be a highlight of my Loyola experience.
Stay tuned for more updates on the action over in Belgium! Au revoir!
